Largest batch of over 1,700 constables join Assam Police

The largest batch in the history of Assam Police passed out of the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy on Thursday. A total of 1,715 newly-recruited constables, including 535 women, completed their training. The batch is the first to graduate from the academy, which was upgraded from the Police Training College that was set up in 1947.
